My sleep was not productive last night. I dreamt about meteor showers and aliens invading our culture on the tail ends of falling stars. I kept waking up, waiting for the 4:30-5:30 window when the meteorites would be most visible in the eastern night sky. But when I woke up, and put on clothes, twice! And walked outside, I couldn’t see any shooting stars. Ted texted me from Rancho Santa Margarita to say that he saw a falling star. The light pollution in Huntington Beach was too stark to see the falling stars. I guess I should have headed down to the beach to lay on the sand and see the plethora of stars promised by the meteorite shower. Instead I kept sleeping and waking and sleeping again, just waiting for my star to wish upon.
This morning I immediately put on my bathing suit as a precursor of beach events to partake in today. I found a $10 bill in the tan corduroy OP shorts I pulled out of my beach clothes shelf. That $10 will be dedicated to the fun and pleasure found at the HB Pier Beach Extravaganza event that Lili and I are going to ride our bike to.
Even if I didn’t get much sleep, or get to wish upon a star, my dreams for a long beach weekend will come true!
