Solvang Century

Jamie made it a goal to ride in the Solvang Century/Half-Century this year. She opted for the half-century, which she kept saying, "I'm just riding 50 miles" Yeah just 50 miles, like that's nothing to brag about! 50 miles is quite a distance and I am so proud of her! She did awesome, she was excited to ride with others who shared her interests. I am not an avid bike rider, I occasionally take a beach cruiser for a spin, I decided that I would volunteer to help with the ride. I then became our teams "athletic supporter", oh yeah I even made a t-shirt! A couple of friends decided to join Jamie on her quest, they rode the full century, 100 miles of beautiful scenery with a few hills and a final climb through a canyon....I was happy to be apart of something that people have a passion for. I was able to walk with Jamie to the starting line and see her take off, then we both stood at the finish line waiting for Brandon and Adam. It was great! We then had two dinners and two desserts(yeah I worked up quite an appetite), we walked around Jamie's hometown looking for pie....it was pie day as well, the weekend was good times indeed..

Me trying to be the best athletic supporter that I can be by writing inspiring messages on the road...

At the staring line..
Clipping in...
Adam and Brandon at the finish line...ready for some BBQ!

All three are true athletes...

Good Job Jamie!! Maybe I'll do it with you next year. It sounds fun. How is your bottom?
