Well I finally did it, I have talked about it for awhile now..I booked my flight to Australia! It has been along time coming. My very first trip outside the US, woot! woot! I went through the steps last year to get my passport and it has been sitting on my bookshelf just waiting to be used.
Why Australia? I'm not really sure, for the longest time I have had a desire to visit OZ. After I booked my ticket I found a old notebook, I'm not even sure when I wrote my "goals" in this notebook, but there it was, travel to Australia.
People would ask me, "Liz what are you going to do in 2009?", I always said, I'm going to quit my lame job, go to Australia, come back and go to school full time. Well it looks like it is coming to pass.
The first step, just buy the ticket! I was at work one day, and I thought I'll just look at flights, not thinking to buy, but something happened... I needed to buy a ticket that day, the price was right, the days were right, I said a silent prayer and went for it..I have a nervous excitement about my impending trip. I think that's because it's the right decision.
I fly into Brisbane, I'm not even sure at this point what I want to do when I get there, I am still in the planning stages. All I know is, it will be awesome!

I think your Australia theme will be more complete when you receive the movie Australia from Netflix on Monday! Here's to Auzzie Men in movies and in person!
