Lunar Eclipse

there was a lunar eclipse last night. From 2:00 to 5:00am I sat on the beach with a pair of binoculars to watch the sun fade from white to red and back to white again. Other people enjoying the show were surfers at lifeguard station 14. Every once in a while we would hear their stoked exclaimations as they rode the extremely low tide in the fading blackness. Then the sprinklers came on and the street sweeper drove by so we ran for the car and into bed to dream again of planetary suprises. This weekend there will be an amazing metor shower, for all those awake enough in the middle of the night to watch it!
