Harry Potter's Love

Harry Potter is a Love Story. Not only do I love it, but also the overall theme is that love conquers all. Finally, in the almost released movie (Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince) Harry not only finds his physical love with Ginny Weasley, but his emotional love is once again surfaced as he battles Voldermort. Harry had always been taught that the emotional differences between Voldermort and he is that he knows the power of love. Dumbledore said, “You are protected, in short, but your ability to love! The only protection that can work against the lure of power like Voldermort’s!” Poor Voldermort had a horrible, confusing childhood and never accepted the love that was offered. Harry, on the other hand was challenged with a horrible childhood in his Aunt’s house, but was open hearted to accept the love when offered to him. I am encouraged by this engaging love story. In the end, it is Harry’s ability to love that keeps him from killing others, from shirking responsibility, to keeping Ginny safe and finally to ending Voldermort’s powerful terror.
I am excited by this story every few years. Since the story was first published in 2001, I have read all the books and seen the movies within days of their release. I took this the weekend to catch up on book #6, being such a nerd that I even took the book to the bon fire so that I could read in my downtime. This week, watching the Half Blood Prince will be on the top of my to do list. I want to revel in the power of love conquering all as Ron and Hermonie, Harry and Ginny fall in love without the use of Weasley love potions and Dumbledore sacrifices his life so that Harry can live and fulfill “the prophecy”. Harry Potter is a classic story of good vs. evil and love conquering all.

hmm, maybe you should mention there are spoilers in this post. Some people are slow on getting books read.
