I took the train to the bus station to catch a ride up to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. The bus ride was about 45 minutes. The sanctuary is the largest reserve for Koala's. They sanctuary also housed kangaroos, wallabys, Emus, snakes, birds, and dingos. It was a little strange being in the field with the kangaroos and Emus and wallabys, they were just hanging out waiting to be fed by the humans who bought food from the containers out front. I felt as though I was invading their space and the animals were bored. Yes I know it's not the same seeing the wildlife in the wild but it's the closest I was going to get to see a Koala.
